A new series of roadshows is set to travel across York and North Yorkshire next month, with the aim of helping local businesses expand into international markets. Delivered in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade and the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub, this roadshow will introduce you to export experts who will share practical guidance.
Secerna is delighted to be involved in this initiative, which is backed by Mayor David Skaith’s Business Innovation Fund, and will provide expert guidance on a crucial element of international trade: intellectual property (IP). At each event, a different attorney from Secerna will be available to provide practical guidance and answer your questions on these critical topics.
Secerna Partner Charlotte Watkins said: "We're delighted to be involved in these roadshows. Exporting offers incredible opportunities for businesses, and a strong intellectual property strategy is essential for success abroad. We'll be there to help businesses navigate the international landscape and ensure their IP is secure."
Secerna Partner Jason Boakes added: "A successful export journey requires a robust strategy, and securing your intellectual property is a fundamental part of that plan. When you enter a new market, protecting your brand with a robust IP strategy and safeguarding your innovations is essential to mitigating risk and ensuring long-term success."
Locations
The roadshows will be free to attend, taking place in October across seven locations, including:
Unlocking Growth with Expert Support
The Export Support Roadshow offers businesses a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from a range of experts and hear directly from local business owners who have already seen positive results from their export journeys. This collaborative approach provides a powerful platform for learning and networking with fellow business owners and experts. The importance of this initiative is highlighted by past successes. Last year, businesses who participated in the export program generated more than £15 million in sales with the help of a £200,000 grant pot.
A Clear Path to Global Markets
The roadshows will provide attendees with helpful advice, routes for support beyond the events, including the Department of Business and Trade’s UK Export Academy, and information about funding opportunities from the Business Innovation Fund, with grants of £3,000 to £10,000 available in the next round of applications.
