Triumph at Sea: Secerna LLP Hails Seas the Day's Historic Pacific Crossing

Events News 20/10/2025

World Record Breaking Achievement

Secerna LLP, is thrilled to celebrate the monumental success of the Seas the Day Ocean Rowing Team, Jess Rowe and Miriam Payne, who have successfully completed their world record attempt to cross the entire Pacific Ocean after 165 days at sea.

In a feat of extraordinary endurance and determination, Jess (28) and Miriam (25) completed the 8,000-mile, non-stop and unsupported journey from Peru to Cairns, Australia, aboard their nine-metre rowing boat, Velocity. Setting off on May 5, 2025, battling everything the Pacific could throw at them from equipment failures and debilitating salt sores to powerful squalls and 30-foot waves. Their arrival marks them as the youngest and the first all-female pair to complete this gruelling route non-stop and unsupported.

Beyond the physical challenge, the Seas the Day team rowed with the vital objective of raising funds for The Outward Bound Trust. Their inspiring mission resonated deeply, resulting in them smashing their fundraising goal and raising an incredible total of over £99,000 (so far) for the charity, which supports young people in discovering their potential through challenging outdoor adventures.

As proud sponsors of Jess and Miriam, Secerna LLP offers its heartfelt congratulations on a truly historic achievement.

They did it!
